Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Patient Education & FAQs.

How do I get a second opinion from Dr. Abhishek?

Send your diagnosis, biopsy reports, imaging scans, and previous treatment notes through our contact form. Dr. Abhishek personally reviews every case and responds within 48 hours with a detailed written opinion — free of charge.

What should I bring to my first consultation?

Please bring all original reports (biopsy, pathology, blood work), imaging (CT/MRI/PET scans on CD), list of current medications, details of prior surgeries or treatments, and a family member. Previous opinions from other doctors are also helpful.

How long does a consultation take?

Initial consultations typically take 30–60 minutes to allow thorough review of your case, explanation of treatment options, and time for all your questions. Follow-up visits are shorter.

Can I have a family member with me during consultation?

Absolutely. We encourage family involvement in all treatment decisions. You can bring one or two family members or caregivers to any consultation.

Do you offer video consultations?

Yes. Video consultations are available for patients who cannot travel easily — especially for second opinions and follow-up. Contact us to schedule a video appointment.

Which languages does your team speak?

Our team is comfortable in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and can arrange interpreters for patients who speak other languages including Bengali, Tamil, and Arabic.

Will I see the same doctor throughout my treatment?

Yes. Dr. Abhishek personally manages every case from diagnosis through surgery and follow-up. Your case is never handed off to a junior colleague for the key decisions or the operation itself.

How do I prepare for cancer surgery?

Preparation includes nutritional optimisation, managing other health conditions (diabetes, BP, heart), stopping certain medications, and chest physiotherapy. Our team provides detailed pre-operative instructions in writing.

What happens after surgery — who follows me up?

You will see Dr. Abhishek at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and then every 6 months for 5 years. Long-distance patients can do follow-up via video and reports. Oncologist follow-up runs in parallel.

What if I cannot afford treatment?

Do not give up without speaking to us. We help patients access insurance, charitable trusts, crowdfunding platforms, and hospital financial assistance programs. Dr. Abhishek’s priority is that no patient is denied care for financial reasons.
